Description

Prestige hotel and conference centre in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
Luxury hotel - attached to the "King Abdulaziz" international conference centre- comprising 48 presidential suites, 48 junior suites and 492 rooms, as well as a "Symposium Centre" conference centre.
The non-standard dimensions of the work, the quality of the materials and that of the technical installations contribute to making this hotel complex a work that goes beyond the international classification standards .
Reception section comprising 3 restaurants serving 900 covers, 3 cafeterias for 450 seats, 3 lounge bars, a banqueting hall for 700 guests, a reception room for 700 guests, a swimming pool, a 6-lane bowling alley, a fitness centre with sauna, jacuzzi, hammam and sports centre. An ultra-modern conference centre, including a symposium hall with 300 seats, a modular lecture hall for an audience of 500, offices and meetings necessary for preparing and organising conferences, as well as a press centre designed to receive 500 journalists, are also integrated in the complex. .
Classed as IGH, this hotel complies with the American safety standards NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) for fire safety.
The hotel gained the WORLD TRAVEL AWARD 2011 for the exceptional quality of its ethics and the exceptional services offered by this luxury establishment.

DESIGN CHALLENGE
Over 10,000 of execution drawings produced. At the request of the client the NFPA (USA) standards have been applied to everything relating to the safety of property and persons in this IGH classed building (high rise building)

CHALLENGE STRUCTURE
The transfer of loads above the ground floor to 14.0 mm forced the engineer to adopt solutions of the Civil Engineering type rather than the normal Building type solutions, for example:

  • Concrete beams measuring 4.00x3.00 in cross-section.
  • Concrete posts measuring 3.00x2.50 in cross-section.
  • Wide span prestressed beams (40.00ml / 1,000tonnes) above the large reception rooms measuring 2,400m² each.

Over 1-.-0-- ,3 pf arcjotectira; concrete was ised fpr tje 2-.--- prefabricated pieces produced by SAUDI OGER, some of these pieces weighing up to 20 tonnes.
